Interventions
At Thomas Ashton School, we are committed to ensuring every pupil feels safe, valued, included and supported to achieve their full potential. Our comprehensive intervention programme provides a wide range of personalised support designed to remove barriers to learning, promote emotional wellbeing and help pupils develop the skills they need to thrive both in school and in the wider community. Through our nurturing NEST provision, pupils can access targeted one-to-one support, small group interventions, therapeutic services, behaviour mentoring, emotional regulation programmes, attendance support, boxing interventions, Thrive, Art Therapy, ELSA, Speech and Language support, and specialist external services where required.
Our dedicated team works closely with pupils, families and external professionals to identify needs early and provide the right support at the right time. Using a graduated three-tier approach, we ensure that support is tailored to each pupil's individual circumstances, from universal wellbeing and relationship-building strategies through to specialist therapeutic interventions. By placing positive relationships, early intervention and pupil wellbeing at the heart of our practice, we help children and young people build confidence, resilience, independence and a sense of belonging, enabling them to engage successfully in learning and achieve positive outcomes for the future.

Requesting Additional Support
If you feel your child would benefit from additional support in school, you can use the QR code below to submit a request. The information you provide will help us understand your child's needs and consider whether an intervention or support programme may be appropriate. Once your request has been received, it will be reviewed by the relevant member of staff, who may contact you to discuss the support available and any next steps.
We welcome parents and carers sharing information about what they feel may help their child, and we are committed to working in partnership with families to support positive outcomes for all students.
